Firyal’s objects of study are varied, as art can be seen from different perspectives. She took up art some twenty five years ago, always drawing her inspiration from cultural artifacts and history. Her work is inspired by the rich cultural history of Iraq and the Arab’s world.

In all her art, Firyal highlights the artist’s longing and nostalgia for one’s cherished heritage and the desire to protect it and distance it from the chaotic reality of our times, thereby documenting and preserving it for posterity. She has participated in many solo and joint exhibitions in UK, USA and the Middle East.
