Twenty One years ago, Sarah Beydoun was pursuing a master’s degree in sociology. Her thesis research led her to volunteer at a local NGO that works with underprivileged women and female prisoners.

There she heard stories of poverty, violence and abuse that spurred her to launch Sarah’s Bag, a fashion house and social enterprise. Today the Sarah's Bag team includes 250 female prisoners, ex-prisoners and underprivileged women; they are the artisans who create the intricate handwork that is the hallmark of the brand's luxurious handbags and accessories.
